Demand Planning Specialist
PURPOSE: Research market conditions to determine the demand for and sales of company products and product mix through input from Sales Managers, outside sales representatives and customers. Promotes complete and on-time order shipments through coordination of the various internal and external links in the supply chain.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
1. Interprets demand information from forecasts, sales orders and inquiries and supply information such as inventory, production schedules and import schedules to:
a. Balance customer requirements against finished goods inventory and production / import capabilities
b. Allocate finished goods inventory to customers according to established procedures
2. Examines and interprets statistical data to forecast future trends related to a specific customer group
3. Gathers data on customers and interprets sales, methods of marketing and distribution and customer preferences and buying habits
4. Reviews and if needed, verifies information by contacting internal Sales Managers, external sales representatives and customers and updates databases
5. Lead contact in handling forecasting information for specific strategic accounts
6. Maintains demand planning system (SAP DP), including daily activities associated with the entry and revision of forecasts
7. Tracks orders through Sauder order processing systems (SAP ECC) to ensure accurate, timely order fulfillment
8. Communicate continuously with Production Scheduling department regarding pack order priorities based on customer demand
9. Participates in establishing order fulfillment procedures and processes
10. Works directly with Sauder Global Sourcing (SGS) staff both in Archbold, OH and Jurupa Valley, CA to ensure timely arrival of imported supply to meet planned demand
EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION / SKILLS:
1. Applicants should have good leadership, organizational as well as written and verbal communication skills
2. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and SAP tools is helpful
3. Positive attitude and the ability to deal effectively with all people in a collaborative team environment
4. Flexible and able to adapt to the changing needs of the department and company
5. Associate's degree or minimum of two years experience, or combination of education and experienceEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
